About Germann Auction House
We share your passion for art
Germann Auction House, founded in 1972, has achieved an international reputation among collectors and connoisseurs from all over the world for its fine art auctions of the highest quality. International Modern and Contemporary Art and Swiss Art: Paintings, Watercolors, Drawings, Sculptures, Prints and Multiples, Editions and Photography are our most important business segments in which we have achieved continuing success. Significant works of art of the 19th, 20th and 21st century have been auctioned through us and found new owners, and enhanced important collections and institutions.
Our longstanding experienced staff members guarantee a very personal relationship with our clients who can rely on professional expertise. The emphasis is on appraisal and clarification of authenticity, clarification of provenance and market analysis for significant objects of art. A science-based, methodological approach to the arts is of particular importance to us. We can draw on decades of experience with relationships with important collectors, museums, art dealers and art experts at home as well as abroad and value and describe the objects by the international market standards. We are happy to accept entire collections, significant collection groups, or individual works of art for sale by auction.
The Germann Auction House is proud to be a pioneer in the industry by integrating the latest technological advancements. With foresight and conviction, we recognized the potential of AI authentication early on and firmly incorporated it into our process. In collaboration with Art Recognition, a leading company in AI-based art authentication, we leverage this modern technology, which perfectly aligns with our high standards for precision and trust. It supports our goal of offering art enthusiasts reliable and innovative expertise. AI authentication allows us to proceed with the utmost care and attention to detail, reinforcing our role as a modern, forward-thinking auction house.
Our commitment to the arts and the art market culminates in the semi-annual auctions, where the ever-changing composition of the auction sales makes each a unique experience. In the run-up to the auctions, richly illustrated and carefully research-based catalogs are printed in large numbers and distributed to customers all over the world. You are most welcome to order your copy. All auction lots along with their complete description are also published on the internet approximately 3 weeks before the auctions start and are therefore accessible to a broad clientele around the globe. Before the auctions, our premises transform into an Art Gallery, where the objects are exhibited and can be inspected by all interested parties.
