The sculpture "Wächter" is one of the first from the series "Strassenmenschen" from 1968. The series was shown for the first time at the Open Air Exhibition "Kurt Laurenz Metzler. Serielle Polyesterplastik, 1969" at the Museum Bellerive in Zurich and in 1971 was also exhibited at the Art Basel.
