The French painter, illustrator and writer Marguerite Burnat-Provins studied art in Paris and, after marrying her first husband, a Swiss architect, spent twelve years living in the French part of Switzerland. Her art was strongly influenced by rural life in Valais, where she would spend her summers. Her posters, designed in the spirit of Art Nouveau, are highly coveted and hard to come by.
