Karl Otto Ernst apprenticed as a graphic designer and then studied in Florence and Paris. In 1910 he became a student of Eugène Grasset at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière; later he travelled around Europe as a freelance painter and graphic designer. These experiences clearly had a positive impact on his poster art, as this beautiful stone lithograph from 1933 shows. A rarity.
