The present work is inspired by the drawing "Des fruits, deux femmes, deux tasses à thé, 1928". This drawing again was the draft for the paintings "Deux femmes étendues au compotier, 1935", "Deux femmes étendues, 1940" and "Deux femmes au compotier, 1945".
The present work is registered at the Archive of Mme Naïma Jornod und M. Jean-Pierre Jornod, Geneva, and will be included in the forthcoming Catalogue of Works on Paper.
